But it doesn’t end there - we also care about the impact our products have on the environment. Our packaging has high standards, too. Here are some ways our sustainable packaging initiatives are making our packaging look even better.
We only use 100% Post Consumer Waste Recycled Paper (PCW). Envirographic 100 is an uncoated fine paper manufactured and made with 100% post consumer recycled material that is designed to reduce the environmental footprint of paper usage.
We strive to use packaging that has the least impact on our environment and especially oceans. We've reduced our usage of plastic to 100% and try to use glass instead or if we have use plastic—only the most necessary items and closures and strongly encourage proper recycling. Our preference is for highly recyclable glass and biodegradable cardboard where possible.
Getting back to glass is recycled more easily than plastic? Whether recycled or in a landfill, glass doesn’t release harmful toxins that contribute to greenhouse gases, and doesn’t run the risk of ending up in our waterways. In terms of energy, water, and waste glass was more sustainable.
Although glass is heavier and more expensive to ship than plastic, it is more likely to be reused—and recycled into another product—than end up in a landfill.
